First Offenders Courses

First Offender's Course Instructions & Information for Administrators:

To determine if the student is a first offender, call Dara White (801-567-8298 or ext 88298) in the Student Support Department at Student Services. You may also email her through MOVEIT at dara.white@jordandistrict.org with the student's name and student number.  Dara will set up a first offender class online through Canvas, after which the student will receive an invitation through their student email (@my.jordandistrict.org) to accept and begin the online course. The student may take the course in either English or Spanish.  The student may also pair the course with an observer such as a parent or assistant principal, but this is not mandatory.  A copy of the email will also be sent to the parent and the referring administrator.

    • It is recommended that the student is given a 1-week deadline to finish the online course.
    • Any paperwork can be scanned and sent through MOVEIT to Dara, or through district mail:  Dara White, District Office, Student Support Services.
    • A student update will be sent regularly to the administrator, such as where the student is in the course (registered, how many lessons have been completed, etc.)

When a student has completed all the sections of their course, a certificate of completion is generated which will be forwarded to the assistant principal.
